     We are having a great time this year in First Grade ! We are working hard Reading and Writing. We are reading many great stories and having fun reading many books independently. In Writing, we are working on personal narratives and writing friendly letters. We are learning to sound out our words to spell them in stories.We are working on consonant clusters and digraphs and the long sound of our vowels.
        In Science and Math, we are finishing up numbers to 100 and beginning plane figures. In Science, we are studying the stars and learning that there are too many stars in the sky to count them. We will also discussing the good things and the bad things the sun brings us. So as you can see, our day is very busy and we are having a great time so far in first grade !!
